Central Government to Control Locust
The Central Government with cooperation from the state governments is monitoring to control the Locust Swarn, which they have affected about 40,000/- to 50,000/- hectares of land in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and also the Swarn of Locust are in verge to enter other states.
The Union Government has ordered about 60 sprayers from the UK and also deployed the Drones in large affected areas to monitor the Locust activities.
The government has that they have deployed temporary camps and about 200 Locust circles are engaged to conduct control measures, and government also stated that about 14 crores have been granted to Rajasthan alone to control Locust Swarn.
It is also reported that Locust Swarn has damaged the cotton crops in Punjab and Rajasthan including vegetables and fruits, the government has stated that about 120 survey vehicles, more than 700 tractors with the deployment of sprayers and about 40 survey vehicles have been engaged to monitor and control the destruction from Lotus.
