A VISIT TO ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands which is known for its Blue Water and greenery, located in the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, though it is near to Indonesia and Myanmar the Island is the Union Territory Of India, and it is over 1,000 kilometres from mainland India.
The Islands attract tourists from all over the world and the total area of the Islands are about over 8,000 square Kilometres, the islands are divided into:
- Andaman and
- Nicobar,
THE CITY OF PORT BLAIR
The city of Port Blair is famous for its shops and local market and bus depot, the city also has a Saw Mill and city has local Zoo and Government buildings. There are islands adjacent to Port Blair namely:
- Vipor Island
- Ross Island.
Vipor island has a history hidden in it, the island has a Cellular Jail, during the British tenure some of the Freedom Fighters of Indian Independence were jailed here so they could not escape because of water surrounding entire area , but now there are remains of jail which is now a historic place.
The Ross island were once developed by the British, but now there are only remains of buildings which were constructed during British era, there is a museum by name Smritika which speaks out the glorious days of Andaman and Nicobar islands and now the island is renamed as Subhash Chandra Bose island.
THE BEACHES OF ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS
The islands of Andaman and Nicobar are famous for there white sandy beaches and blue water like Radhanagar beach, tourists can enjoy the beaches and have a under water experience in a island called Jolly buoy and Cinque, there a many number of small Islands like Little Andaman Island, Diglipur, Rangat and Mayabunder, Red skin, Neil island and Have Lock which are famous tourists attractions. The only active Valcano present in India is in the island of Barren island and it is also famous for Geographical studies and Chidiya Tapu island is famous for its sunset.

Another tourist attraction for the tourist is Samudrika a famous Naval marine museum the rare Fishes, corals and shells create a under water setup and there are several museums which are famous in Andaman and Nicobar islands such as Zoological Survey of India, Fisheries museums and Forest museums.

There are different Tribes present in islands are Great Andamanese, Jarawa and Shompen and Nicobaries who dont have connection with outside world

The Agriculture: is one of the source of income in the islands, there are large number of Coconut and Arecanut trees which can be seen widely, vegetables, Pulses are grown widely and spices are also grown such as Cinnamon, Pepper, Clove etc., different varieties of fruits such as Mango, banana along with Cashew, Rubber grown widely. The Paddy is grown widely and it is the main crop and fishing is also a main source of income.
Tourism : is also a main source of income for the islanders and tourists plunge to visit the island from different parts of the world.
Industries: There are several large scale industries such as Soft drink and beverages, Paint and Glass making and also has a small scale industry such as bakery, flour mills etc.

The Andaman and Nicobar islands have a small range of Tele-communication companies to provide to provide communication and Mobile services, access to the internet service is very limited.

The Andaman and Nicobar islands can be reached through Air and sea, there are number of Flights operates to Port Blair from Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai frequently, ships also connects island from Chennai, Vizag and Kolkata frequently.
The Naval, air have there bases in islands to protect from the outside intruders.
