Farmers of Assam Export Pumpkins To Dubai
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Flagged off a cargo flight from a cargo terminal in Guwahati, Assam which was carrying pumpkins to Dubai on May 28 amid COVID -19 lockdown rules, the CM also stated that Vegetables and Fruits from the state he represents also exported to Singapore, Hongkong, Abidhabi and London.
The Airport in the Guwahati has a World-class cargo terminal that can export cargos in huge numbers.
The cargo terminal has a warehouse which can house up to 50 MT products of Agriculture which would make the terminal compete with other cargo terminals in the country and the CM also said that about 182 MT of fruits and vegetables have been exported to other countries from the LGBI airport.
The main intention of the cargo terminal construction is to give an opportunity to the state farmers to export the fruits and vegetables grown and give an opportunity for the farmers to increase their income.
